Hi guys,

I recently was given a Striker 516 pistol by my dad. It's 22-250, with a muzzle brake. I am not into rifle-caliber handguns, so I know nothing about the Striker pistols. My question is this...what other caliber barrels are available for it? Numrich has some in stock in various calibers, but I don't see .308 or .223. Were any made in those calibers? I am thinking about setting it up with a .308 barrel threaded for an AAC Blackout flash-hider, to use with a 762-SD suppressor. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
James

Should be no prob to set it up like that with a 308. You can find any small shank barrel and have it custom made. I know a lot of the guys with these will cut down and recrown Savage and Stevens sporter barrels and use. You can ussually pick up sporter barrels in unfired condition in the classifieds here for $45 to $80 depending on caliber. Barrel switch procedures are the same as they are for the Savage Rifles. There is someone right now selling a Striker like yours with a threaded 308, threaded 300/221, and a ported factory 308 Striker barrel.

Best advice is pay the $12, become a paid member and watch the classifeds for used barrels.

Just my $0.02

I had one in .308W. Talk about a hand cannon!

.22-250 would more pleasurable to shoot. 6BR would be fun too.

They were offered in .223, .22-250, .243, 7-08, .308 and .300WSM.

anything that will fit in a rifle can be made to fit. some are a little stout. 308 work well. LOL & 7mm rem mag is not to bad :) One of my favorites is a 6mm rem imp. doing some work with a .25-06. winter slowed that. There are a couple 470 chapsticks floating around that sound like there shooting very well.

I have a 22-250 also.Prompted by another post,I went to Numrich page and they showed Stryker barrels in 308. 7mm-08 and 22-250. I have one in 7mm-08 too and it is really a nice shooter! I got several boxes of factory ammo at the same Gun Show where I got the gun and I haven't started reloading for it yet cause it shoots to good as is!

I love my .243. It is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot - with the appropriate hearing protection. Talk about loud? I bet the 22-250 screams like nothing you've ever heard. A suppressor on one would be NICE :)

I have a Rem M7 in 260 Rem that I got from a friend needing money, really came to like the round for the long range stats. McGowen can make me a barrel for $177.! That is cheap, I have searched for months for a Savage 260 take-off barrel and the good Lord just doesnot bless us with one! FWIW-my 22-250 is scary accurate with Rem 55gr Power Lokt JHPs and I took a nice 8 pt with it in 2005. The 3 shot group I shot prior to the hunt for "O" was 1.5" high and the three shots cut the center line cross hair of the target with one on each side of it covered by a dime! Mine has no brake, but I don't feel handicapped. I have a near identical 7mm-08 w/o a brake too and it is just as accurate.
