Is this right...with any of the new centerfeed actions, the mag metal, follower, and spring are the same. So If I wanted to use the mag metal and parts, less the bottom metal piece that holds the det/mag together, the mag body would slip into a mag-well of a blind mag stock. Thinking of maybe trying a B&C or Stockade or another.

Any one done this backwards retrofit? Very few if no aftermarket stocks with det/mag available.

So long as the cartidge is of the same family(ie. 308, 7-08, 243, ect.) If you want to go from a 308 boltface(cartridge diameter) to say a 223, then you will need a new follower and mag body. As already indicated, the bottom cap for the magaizine is the same will all of the 3rd Gen short actions. I hope this answers your question.

I have a model 12 in a .204 I recently purchased and it has a different feed style than my dads model 12 .204. mine never fails and my dads will almost always fail the fourth round. I t will not feed correctly. I t appears the front of the floor is real weak. I have looked at other new guns at stores and the ones that are the same as his do the same thing. My question is can we put my style in his? When we ordered our stocks we found his to be the older version and mine to be the newer. Mine has a wider separation in the bolts for the receiver than his. Also where can I get the parts if possible. Thanks for any help.
