View Full Version : Stevens 200 action in older Savage 110 stock?

I accidentally posted this question in the wrong forum, now I'm going to try it here.

Will a current Stevens 200 SA receiver fit a wooden stock from an 80's-vintage SA Savage 110? I have a stock, barrel, and trigger unit that I would like to use to build a cheapo shooter by cannibalizing a Stevens 200 for the action. The stock has a center-to-center hole spacing of 4.5 inches.

I'm not familiar with all the recent changes to Savage actions in terms of hole spacing, bolt releases, magazine feed types, etc. I hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks for any info or opinions.

John

the new centerfeed stevens should have a bolt spacing of 4.4", sounds like you might have an older "J" action with that spacing but I would have to ask someone else too

looks like that is actually a 4.522" spacing on that action therefore holes would be off too much, and the other spacing of the Stevens for the old staggered mag is 4.275"

Thanks, NeverNoLuck, it sound like I will just have to keep my eyes open for an older action to fit. They don't seem to be that hard to find.
