I need help w/ getting the right rail & rings to mount a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44(30mm tube) on my new Savage 11 Long Range Hunter in 308. I've looked at some picatinney(round top type) 20 MOA rails for short action Savage, not sure If I'm on the right track? What about rings? Thanks!

I just put a weaver picatinny rail and their tactical rings on my mdl 16 and I was very impressed with not only the quality but the price was less than a third of a Seekins setup. You can get them at Optics Planet.

EGW 20moa base and a set of Burris Signature Zee "medium" 30mm rings. About as solid of a setup as you'll find, and you can get all of it for the same price as most other bases alone.

FYI, With this setup you could even use a 0moa base instead and still have enough elevation to reach 1000 yards.

Other than the 20MOA base and 1" instead of 30mm rings, I have ^^^that setup on 3 of my 4 Savage centerfires.

I ended up going w/ the EGW HD rail & the Burris XT rings, should be pretty solid!
