I have an OLD savage 24V. Only has a 4 digit serial number. .222/20guage metal is real good no rust. Wood has some scratches mostly cosmetic nothing deep. Im thinking the gun is 40-50+ years old I'm not sure. It has a fox engraved on one side and a turkey on the other side of the receiver. Any idea on what it's worth?

If the barrels are siver soldered together then it is older. If there is a gap between the barrels it is around 1975 and up approx. The blue book gives a value for 90%(which would look almost like new except for very minor bluing wear on the end of the barrel.325.00 If the stock is scratched and dented with any rust that drops its value down to about 200.00 I hope this helps.

The 24V with that type of engraving on the receiver would put it between 1966 to 1973.

Even in the condition you noted would bring $375-$400.
