I was looking at the Savage/website,and noticed this gun. It has the accutrigger, and accustock. For the price diffrence, how much better,if any would the new Max1 be compared to this gun? Are any of you shooting one? Ron

I have a 111 FHNS in a .270 Win. with the accustock and accutrigger and it's darn near a one-holer at 100 yards. I was considering a Max 1 in a .243 Win. but ended up with an 11 with the laminated, thumbhole stock. The Max 1 would be great, it's just quite a bit heavier. I'm sure either will provide excellent accuracy. These Savages are just plain shooters. What caliber are you thinking>

Scott,I'm thinking about a 223 for a call gun. I want to camo it,myself. I thought it would make a good light call gun. Ron

Try the .243. You can shoot anything from varmints to deer and they are inherently accurate. If you handload you can load bullets from 60 to 100 grains. I love mine. The 11 will be a good stock to paint too.

Yeah,I've got a 243 in another brand, and it is a accurate cal. ;D I thought the 223 would be a good compromize for calling in smaller areas,I sometimes hunt. After seeing how to camo a gun on this sight,I thought it would make a great gun,to paint, and have most of the features I wanted. Ron
