Need a little help guys. I have been piecing things together to build a 300wsm with. I have a model 11 action with a trigger in it and a single shot follower. Got the bolt head, recoil lug and all that stuff together. The problem is the local gunshop made me too good of a deal on a target action today so I'm thinking why not screw my Krieger barrel on that when it gets here. Question is can I just swap out my bolt head or will I need to change anything else to make it work? The action is a right bolt left port. The stock won't be built until the barrel comes in so that's not an issue.

The model 11 should be small shank. Is the target action large or small shank?
If both are the same shank size it's personal preference. Can't go wrong either way.

The model 11 is a large shank, it was one of the WSM guns to begin with. I just wasn't sure how that bolt head would work with the left port action.

Sorry about that, brain fart forget about those. If I understand right you need a left hand bolt head for left port.

since the target action is a left port you will need a .532" LH bolthead for it.

You could use your bolt head, just remove the ejector and you'll have to manually pick the cases from the bolt head. . . Probably a short term fix until you can find a LH head. . .

Thanks guys for the help. I'll get to work on tracking down that bolt head.
