Nice cat! Plans to mount it? With the price of taxidermy today, I recently saw a pelt with the head and feet matted like a portrait with layers of felt material high-lighting the pelt. It was like a mini-bear skin rug, but dispalyed on the wall. It was very well done, by the taxidermist's wife!, and cost about 40% of what a full body mount sold for.
Last day of deer season I was sitting against a tree swaddled in camo burlap(except for orange hat) and I had a big male Bobcat creep across a narrow pasture to a creek bank, tree I was at is on the bank rim. He was focused on several chipmonks I noted running around on the edge of the water. He got within 30 yds of me, I was watching him in the scope! That day I was armed with 25-06 100gr Nosler Solid Base @ 3200FPS and had I shot him the crows would have had a 50 yd buffet of Bobcat parts for breakfast. I'll come back another day witha 221 or 222 with a fast-expanding Sierra TNT and collect him.
