I am looking for the same as the 93R17 GV but in .22WMR or maybe even a .22LR and nothing is listed on Savagearms.com

I want a heavy barrel, blue, with wooden stock. Not interested in the fancy models.

They make a .22lr in a "Wood Laminate" with a heavy barrel. I have one and I think it's a real nice gun, shoots great too. Look under rimfire Mark II BV for it. It comes with a 5rd magazine. You can get 10rd magazines for it too.

What about in .22WMR?

It's a matter of sales numbers. Not much interest in the .22 WMR since the 17HMR came out.

Agree. The answer to most "why don't they make....." questions is; "The company doesn't think they can sell enough to make it worthwhile."

The same answer applies to "why did they stop making...?"

Absolutely nothing wrong except it's stainless, not blued and has a "fancy" stock, not a plain one. Other than that it's just what the OP asked for. :)

How about the 93FV...that's pretty basic with a synthetic stock & heavy barrel. Check all the models here:

The 93BRJ fits his original request for wood stock and heavy blued barrel. It does have a Fluted barrel though so fits into the FANCY but I can tell you they are all awesome shooters.

Here is my 93BTVS 22 Magnum shown with my Ruger Single Six Hunter .22 Magnum revolver. They both all stainless although the picture of the rifle almost looks blued.

These targets were shot at 50 meters the first time I took the BTVS to the indoor County Range after boresighting with a Bushnell Laser. I made no adjustments to the scope during this shoot. That one low shot in the last target was a Remington Premier Magnum - I call that one a bullet flyer miss.
