Looking for help from someone w/ long range experience shooting factory loads from the model 12 FCV in 22-250.I do not hand load & I'm a NY resident so the Web is not really an ammo option for me. I did order a couple boxes of the Hornady 50 grain v-max Superformance from a local dealer cuz they have gotten some good reviews.I can get these at a very reasonable price, so I'm hoping the gun likes them. I'm using the 22-250 rifle for yotes/chucks outside the range of our model 97 FV 22 WMR. Thanks for any advice!

I shoot the Savage 12FV, and it loves the Winchester White box 45Gr. Mine shoots 1/2 inch groups on good days and 5/8 when I don't shoot it as well. Well worth trying it out at the range and at 4000 Fps it definitely shoots flat out to 450 Yrd's.

[quote][ I'm a NY resident /quote] I,m sorry!!
all you can do is buy a box and try them, and when you find a brand that shoots good enough for YOU than order a BUNCH of the same lot #
It is a pita , that why most of us reload.
the white box winnies would not shoot in my 22-250,2"+, but they shoot .5 in my buddies so we traded some stuff and we're both happy now.
mine likes the 55grand 60gr federal, GOOD LUCK!!
