Forgive Me if this is a noobish question but, I dug around and did not find what I was looking for, a lot of other great info tho.
Going to get a replacement barrel from Shilen for My savage and was going to go ahead and get it threaded for perhaps a comp. or most likely a suppressor down the road. What threading(if that's the correct term) would be a good choice to have a wide range of choice down the road?

The standard threading is based on the caliber. .223 is usually 1/2" x28 and .308 is usually 5/8" x24. There are variations on this but these are the standards. In between calibers can go either way.

get the info from the compensator or suppressor you're gonna by. Thread sizes can be larger than 5/8"x24.

It was for my 308 brake.

Can be pretty much any size, but those are the standards and are by far the most common.
