I have a model 12 FCV 22-250 w/ Mueller 8.5-25X50 w/ Harris swivel bipod. I do not hand load at this time. Looking for help in picking some good choices for longer range factory ammo. Considering Black Hills Gold 36 grain Barnes HP, Hornady 50 grain V-Max Superformance, or ? We will be using this setup on Yotes, chucks etc, that are outside the range of our model 93 FV 22WMR. Thanks

I've got a 12 fvss in 22-250 that I just converted to AI, but before that it would shoot awesome groups with Hornady 40 and 50 gr V-max load and also the cheap Winchester White box 45gr HP.

The model 12 fcv is really one heck of a rifle! I'm making a data card for shots to 500yds using the Remington Premier Accutips (50 grain, V-boat tail). I'm waiting on an order to come in to try some of the Hornady Superformance ammo which is supposed to be awesome. In retrospect I should have put a higher end scope on this rifle but for now I've got a Mueller 8.5-22x50 ($275) on it and it the scope is tracking up & down decently.Once you start getting out there the wind will take these little bullets for a ride but that's to be expected w/ a 22.
