Anybody got any good loads?

I finally got my parts all rounded up!

The barrel is a 27" McGowen rumored to shoot one hole groups throughout a ladder test of RL19 from 73-76grns.

Now, I don't have any RL19 nor have I been able to locate any locally for an affordable cost. . . I have also been hearing about temperature sensitivity of this powder.

So with that in mind, are there any other powder/primer suggestions? I am new to this cartridge.

Thanks and God bless,

Adam

My 338RUM absolutely loves 225g Accubonds with 98g of H1000.

Sorry, can't help with a 338win.

If you are trying to max it out, I would try some RL17.
There is an alliant load, 225 gr BTSP speer bullet over 67.5gr of RL17 for 2830 FPS out of a 24" bbl.

From my experience you can get a bit more out of it. The accubond is a good bit longer than the speer so your max load should be about 66.5 gr of RL17 and according to QL loaded at 3.4" col you should be able to get 2835 out of it.

I will be putting together a 338wm and loading that bullet over RL17.

You should get more out of RL17 with that bullet than RL19.
