Did you have to do any modifications to the action to make it feed properly

bogger, talk to Sinman he's built some. I believe the point of going to an 338 Edge is so you can use the standard magazines, could be wrong.

i figured i could use the lapua mag so i wouldn't have to do much modifications there but i was wondering how they would feed into a regular long action and if i did have any work to do the the action what would it be.

The problem is the action and not the mag as much, the distance between the front of the bolt to the front action screw is what limits you. That's why I developed the 338 sin.

I am running Accurate mags on my edge build. They take 3.79" col, it is the 3.85" they list on there website. I just pressed out the inside shoulders on the mag and tweaked it a little. It would probably be easier to just mill them out but I did not want the open slots in the mag. Its not quit done but the mag and feed work perfect.
I looked at the xlr stock and it should be a good one for an edge build. If you do not have a ultramag action you can have the rear of the mag opening opened up to feed the longer round.

Extend the magazine cut out, one way or another.
