25/284 Build will it work ?

Thinking about building a 25/284 on a stevens short action with a benchmark barrel stockade sporter stock and a 6.5/284 stagger feed magazine box....I need suggestions barrel length...feeding problems ect ect...?

Barrel burner but it will work.
Actually it will probably be almost identical to a 25-06 only a bit more efficient.

I would have a barrel made as long as you can tolerate.

If for normal hunting maybe 24"

It will be really close on getting it in the magazine of a short action. A 95 grn BT on a 6-284 is really tight so you may have to seat a little deep to get it to work.

I may have the barrel short throated slightly to match the magazine length..
