does anybody know where you can buy bolt heads at??

im planning a 338 lapau build here soon and i know savage makes a 338 lapua now so the part has to be out there. i just cant find a place tha sells it.

I assume you know there are some issues with building a 338 L on a standard savage platform.

SSS who is a gunsmith posted the problems a while back and they were enough that I would not build one on a standard or large shank action.

Most people opt for a 338 RUM or 338 Edge.

Just a heads up.

But as others have already stated you might wanna consider a different chambering the Lapua is very rough on things.

.573 doesn't leave much metal around the lugs and chamber

tammons, no i don't , i assumed since savage was now making a 338 lapua that everything would be fine.

do you have a link to what Fred Moreo said? i've had rifle built by him before and value his opinion greatly.

the .338 laupua is not built with regular old savage parts. they have made some changes to make the bolt stronger.

As well as the receiver. Smaller port for more rigidity and different heat treatment process.
