Wow, this doesn't bode well for Savage quality. How can a company that produces several hundred products a day not take the time to perform a few basic dimensional checks on a critical part that is prone to dimensional instability before it goes out the door. It doesn't cost that much. All critical dimensions of a receiver could be checked in less than five minutes. At $60.00 a labor hour, which I hope is on the high side, that amounts to $5.00 per gun. I would be livid if my $900 new rifle had issues that would have taken next to nothing to prevent. By the way, I am an engineer and I would be fired tomorrow if I expected the end user of products produced on equipment that I designed to perform quality control.
