243 wssm from 7Mag

What would be the difficulties in changing, for instance, a 7mm Mag to a 243 wssm? I know I would need a short mag magazine. Would the long action work with the wssm case? The 7mag would give me the mag bolt head. I have been trying to find a wsm but have had no luck, so thought I would look at it this way. Any thoughts?

It would need a custom mag to make it feed right, the wssm is 223 length. Look on gunbroker or the classifieds here for a wsm rifle

You would really be better off with a short action and just use the 223 baffle.

Its probably not going to eject right either, similar to the 6mmbR.
The fix is to mod the ejector pin
so it extends farther.

Just out of curiosity why a 243 WSSM and not a plain 243 win.

I just really like the 243 wssm. I had a model 70 and it was very accurate. Also, I have always like cartridges that not evryone has. And I have a tone of 243 wssm brass.

I used a WSM action. My barrel is on order from shilen though. But, the 243 wssm will feed out of the wsm mag. It does not seem like it will be ultra reliable so I got a single shot adapter from SSS.
