Savage B22 Precision Lite 22WMR - Proof Barrel?

Hi all, I was told by one gun store that the CF barrel on the b22 precision lite is a Proof Research Barrel. I cannot find anything anywhere that can confirm that. Does anyone here know if that is true or not?

Guess I will go back to that dealer and tell him he was giving incorrect info.

I still love the rifle, regardless.

Just remember that 'dealer' and take 'anything' he says with a grain of salt. At minimum he was passing 'unsubstantiated info' and Some will tell you anything to get a sale. Maybe he was given 'wrong info' by someone or maybe just 'blowin' smoke'.

Easy mistake by a dealer as all the carbon centerfire barrels come from Proof. If it was a Proof barrel though, you can bet your bottom that Savage would be touting that on their website like they do on all the models that do come with a Proof barrel.

There are several outfits making button-rifled CF barrels, so Savage could be sourcing these rimfire barrels from any of them.

So this dealer I go to is an honest guy and I do trust him, I think he may have just been told wrong info. I will say when he told me, I wanted it even more. Like I said, I'm still very happy with the purchase even though it is not a Proof Barrel.
