Early 60s quality scope

I was chatting with one my competitors during our first cast match about possibly bringing Savage 110 serial #71 in 30-06 to a future match. Though not period correct, I have an EGW 0 MOA base I picked up some time ago for my 80's 7RM.

This rifle would qualify for Production or Hunter class, neither have scope restrictions. What early 60s hunter style variable scope with quality glass should I look for? Have the Balvar 8B I put on the rifle around 1975 or so, but it's currently on my 30-30 and don't really want to move it.

Open to suggestions. :)

Redfield, Balvar, Unertl, B&L, Lyman. just what pops to mind. Burris didn't start until the 70's

My choice would be a Weaver "K" series. Maybe 10x or 12x

Have an older 1" 24x Leupold, no ring marks, so set in the 1" rings yesterday but couldn't move the scope back far enough to get a proper sight picture when shouldered. Soo, replaced the Weaver bases with an EGW rail for more fore/aft movement, new Burris Zee rings should be here next week.

Considered moving the Balvar 8B to the 110 but nixed that since it works well on my 30-30.

Looked at Weaver & Lyman target models at Vintage Gun Scopes are too rich for my wallet right now.

Guess I'll just use what I already have and watch for better deal later.

The Lyman All American scopes are pretty nice. Made in the 60s and 70s. Not a target-style scope with external adjustments, but mounts up like a regular 1" tube scope with internal adjustments. I have one in 25x I got a long time ago and it's surprisingly good.

It doesn't Fred, just thought it would be kinda neat to do. After looking at prices of quality optics from that era, decided the older mint Leupold 24x sitting in my safe will be just fine. ;)
