New Style of Savage Trigger Guards

Looking at Savage's website, it looks like many of the rifles now use a different shaped BBR trigger guard? Is there any difference other than the shape? I don't have any of the new style rifles to compare with so I'm hoping someone that has one can tell me. Here is the pic of the new style:

I'll order some on my next Savage order but I'm also wondering if there were any changes to the magwell/bottom metal along with the trigger guard change. Thanks in advance!

Wish I could tell you Lance. (Or Noemi). I’ve noticed the change but don’t have any newer models. Something tells me it’s just a shape change with no other differences. But someone with a new & old will need to test that theory to concur or refute.

On the guard, I do like the shape better. I prefer square to round. Just think it’s more aesthetically pleasing.

This is the newer Savage 110 Switchback I just purchased. It has the squared trigger guard. I swapped stocks with a Model 11 in a Boyd's stock with a round trigger guard. Dropped right in. The original stock does not have a removable bottom metal and will not accept the Axis style magazine with the clip on the front. Has to be the Magazine with the push button on the front.

Are you using your phone to take the picture? If so, red below. What you are likely doing is taking the pic & loading from there. It’s better to take the picture first, then save it to your gallery & check the orientation before uploading. If it’s all catiwompas, you can edit the picture and orient the clicking correctly.

Sometimes the phone will fool you and turn the picture relative to your viewing angle.
It's not saved that way.
Take a picture with the phone in 4 90 degree orientations. They all will probably 'Look' upright, but ain't.
Mark the case in case you forget which way is up.

That's is great advice I will implement that!

The 110 High Country I reviewed back in 2020 had that style of trigger guard. IIRC the footprint was the same, just the shape of the guard hoop changed. All my personal guns are older so I don't have one of the new style handy to compare.
