I am new here and I am hoping to find out the year my Savage 110L was made. From looking at info from this site it appears that my rifle was made between mid 1958 to mid 1962.
I don t have a serial number starting with a letter so it is pre-1968. I would like to know the exact year it was made.
Any help is appreciated.

Look on your Barrel near the Action. There will an Oval stamping with a Letter & number in the oval. The Letter will correlate to a year on the chart below. Your picture isn’t showing up. Try using https://imgbb.com/

Thank you so much.
Mine has (SP). I though it might be an (8P) but is definitelyhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1-1bWLeuRGbO_IPPXRzjgCQ9ow1NBEMNx/view?usp=sharing and (SP) So, it looks like it is either '63 or a '65?

It’s an S. Your rifle is a ‘65. Very cool. We have a couple members here with FIRST Year production 110s. Nice piece of Savage History you got there. I’m not a collector, but I’m a long time Savage fan. I wouldn’t mind having one of of those for the nice sentiment of owning one.

There are 2 ovals. One will contain "SP" which is Savage Proof, the other will contain two digits and a letter, the digits are the inspector's stamp, the letter is the year code. Your Google drive link says "access denied".

Oh yes. I forgot that. Thanks Phil. Here is a thread discussing it with some pictures. https://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?61897-Savage-110-Date-of-Manufacture-type
