What are you guys getting in the way of fired case neck diameters from savage factory varmint barrels?
and what for a loaded round?
Ive got a takeoff barrel and wondering how the factory chambers are.

...I've seen .254 fired...Loaded depends on what brass you're useing..

The chambers on the Savage barrels are pretty good, but not as good as a chamber cut by a good smith using sharp, quality reamers.
The barrel should shoot well. If you want precision target grade, you will need to get a premium barrel done by a good smith.
I use www.savagegunsmithing.com. The smith, Scott Null is a true Master Riflesmith and guarentee's any bolt gun that he does an accuracy job on and re barrels will shoot 5 shots into .3" or better @ 100 using his loads. Most shoot better.
I don't know of any other smith who guarentee's that small of a group from 5 rounds.
