I have been a pro trapper and predator shooter for over 6 decades. I tell you all if something is not done we could start seeing a severe decline in all furbearers. Mostly due to disease! Bioligist know it but to be politically correct they say stuff like "the coons are eating all the sweetcorn" or they plead "hunters are losing their ducks, which we all know is wrong as waterfowl populations today flourish"

Many states like Iowa are considering a bounty system on coons. SD had one and maybe still does as coons, skunks, possums and mink are tearing up the marshes.

Worse of all is the tree huggers that think we live in the middle ages and animals run free. Animals don't run free in our modern times. If they did roadkills would not exist! that And.... Coyotes in urban would not be attacking and killing people.

Muskrats are declining because of winged predators. Because ow the winged predators are so pretty says the tree huggers.

How can you help, just do something. For example write your elected officials and ask them to open trade with China and Russia. BTW since China is not engaging in the uS fur market they have switched to raining long haired dogs for fur. By a fur harvester license or hunting license if you can take fur bearers on it. Start shooting coon and yotes and especially wolves. Wolves introduced from Canada that now see the lower 48 as their person smorgasboard table. Coons also, if their population isnt control feline distemper will eventually kick in and kill them by thousands leaving but just a few like in the 70s and 80s. Yotes well shoot them close to urban environments and also if your in cattle country.

Bottomline trappers are selling their gear. It cost so much for gas these days running a decent line with these low fur prices will put you in the red.

Thanks all
