im kinda new to savages and have a question. a guy just brought a 112 in 22-250 by the house wanting to sell it and i dont really know anything about it. my question is why would a 22-250 have a long action? does ayone know the value of these guns because he seems to be at the upper end of price to me? it has a 26 in heavy barrel, non accutrigger with a bipod. trigger seems to have been worked on because its awful crisp with no travel at about 2lbs. gonna shoot it tomorrow, ill know a little more about it then.

its not a single shot and the serial number starts with F and its a standard shank with a monte carlo style stock. i did notice how smooth the action is. it seems to be alot smoother than my 110fp, if it shoots as well as my fp then its a keeper.lol

In the beginning Savage only made one action length. The shorter cartridges box magazine cutout in the receiver was positioned towards the chamber end. The rear portion was solid. When a long cartridge was chambered the opening was milled the full length for the box magazine.
