Got a Leupold standard base for my flat back 110 .308. Mounted it up and there was a SIZEABLE gap at the bridge and the rear ring was cocked on an angle with the windage screws tight.
Oh CRAP, thinks I. Got a bad rifle...
I put the Kwik Site mounts back on and everything was fine.
Got a set of Weaver bases and Weaver compatible Leupold low rings and PRESTO!
Everything lines up just fine. It's so NICE not to have the scope in mid air anymore!
I suppose I just got a bad base. Glad I didn't panic about it.
The lesson is, it isn't always the rifle.
Time to have fun!

Yes, sound advice. Never jump to conclusions with dealing with a firearm’s problem. Take your time, assess the situation and change nothing until it’s verified. Most people are too quick to blame the firearm. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a shooter blame the firearm when the problem was their own user error! We’ve seen it here many times, LOL!

For me, whenever my otherwise tight group has a flyer, it has *always* been the firearm....ALWAYS.

I reload for the wife.
I assembled her rifle.
Fliers are all on her :)
