I just made these for my 223 & 260 reloads. Drop tube that I secured to the Dillon powder fill die. Figured I’d give Drop Tubes a try. I’ve read conflicting results, but we’ll see.

People who used compressed loads seem to love them.

I do for my Marlin 1895 444Marlin. At near Max loads the powder is compressed, 51.0gr VT N-130 & Hornady 265gr FN @ 2380fps.

I use a powder drop tube to even out the compression pressure thru the powder column. The bullet barely touches the powder when I use the dropped tube.

Left- Powder Funnel, Right- Trickled into a Powder Funnel on top of a 20" Drop Tube.

I don't use the powder drop tube with any other powders, load or rifles as I don't have compressed loads for them.

I made one to maximize the amount of Varget I could get into small cases and I was really surprised at what a difference it made.
