Savage Axis LA 300 ACC with ORYX chassis.

Gentlemen,

Quick question from the new guy. Bought a brand new AXIS in 300 blackout and it has the long action. I was going to buy the ORYX chassis for it and was wondering if anyone knew if the ACIS magazines work with it being LA in such a short cartridge or will I have to use original magazine? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I emailed MDT and awaiting response, figured I might find out here, ready to buy chassis.

300 AAC is too short to run Long Action. It’s the same length as 223 basically. You want the Oryx Chassis for Axis Short Action. And use these magazines for it. https://mdttac.com/223-mdt-metal-aics-magazine/


The Axis is made to be Short or Long Action by simply flipping the Front Baffle around. The Receiver itself is the same regardless. BTW, Welcome.
