Long time Reader of this Site

Just acquired my 2nd Savage, a Mdl 10 .223 Tactical, Used, from a Member of my Gun club.
1st was a New Mdl 12 BVSS, bought in the Mid Nineties, before the Accutrigger, in .308.
I have it set up for Palma Sights, and is currently using a 12 Pwr Leopold Target Knob Scope,
Loves the 2156 Sierra's, using Varget, or IMR 4064, great at 600 yards.

Back to my the Mdl 10.

It has a Nikon Monarch 4-16 Scope, and will shoot anything I had laying around, 50, 52, 55, 60, 62, 75, and yes 77's all grouped well @ 200 yards.
Next Wkend will be 300 Weather permitting?

The owner said he only shot it 250 Rounds, did not know how many rds the guy before shot??
He was correct the Rifle Shoots!

As a Highpower Guy, how many rounds can I expect to get out of this Barrel?
4.5-5K is what I get out of my Service Rifles.

When did Savage stop making the Model 10?

Thx,

Welcome.. well, kinda:confused: You joined in 2016 apparently?

As to your question, depend ls on what you mean. We don’t know what it shoots. And it’s different for different level shooters. But I’d say for the average shooter, If you work up a load for it and it’s banging out <1/2” groups consistently, I’d expect it to keep doing that at least 2500-3000rds. And then start opening up slowly. But if it’s a shooter now, it will likely still do MOA for more rounds than you’ll ever put through it.

Funny you mentioned it has a Nikon Monarch 4-16x50. Many years ago, my very first halfway decent scope was a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40SF BDC. Wasn’t a bad a scope way back when. Just reading your post triggered that memory. :tea:
