Sponge paint job almost did its job too well!

I have spray painted stocks for years, having to tape off the barrel channel, etc. This is the first sponge paint job I've done and I doubt I'll ever spray another one. It's just too easy.

Let's see your painted stocks!

A buddy of mine gets "raps" from amazon that work and look like pipped camo.
I have not painted a rifle but I did do my yellow Honda 4Wheeler.

Very nice. I’ve never tried sponge painting. But I’m fairly Plain Jane. Was a rattle can aficionado for years & years. But I made the move to Cerakote with a spray gun. I’ll never go back to anything else.

I did one once, and can attest to the thread title! Did a M-70 223 Stealth several years ago. I got it on sale when Gart Bros died in Northglenn, and it was pretty ugly black. It does pretty well on pd's and have spent several days lying in the big weeds waiting for them. (small town, and a couple shots scares 'em down their holes for a while.)
Once, went up to the house for some water, and left the gun lying in the weeds. When I came back out, took me 20 minutes to find the gun.:(

I imitated the E Colo weed colors with Rustoleum, sprayed it up and it's been good ever since. Some wearing from bags and handling, but it's holding up OK. Only issue was I painted it standing on the retractable bi-pod legs and they didn't retract too well for several years. Had to jury rig a cheek pad to raise the comb a little, but beyond that, it's been a pretty good shooting gun.

I tried to post a pic, but it looks like I can't post attachments. Maybe later....
