New member with a weakness for the 99

I've used Savage rifles for years and have a definite weakness for the model 99s. IMHO they were arguably one of the best rifles ever made.

Welcome my friend. I have a similar fondness, although for the 10/110 Models. And being America’s longest running produced, Bolt Action Rifle, gives it merit.

Big regrets for not grabbing up a .303 Savage M99H (no grip hump) at a local dealer when I was MUCH younger. Even in 1978 it was an obsolete caliber.

But, oh, the posibilities.

Also a well and beautifully sporterized .30-40 Krag carbine at the same dealer. $80 I didn't have free at the time (when a gallon of gas was $0.37). I remember this well because I went back to buy it weeks later and it had already been sold.
