Hello, new guy here, but long time shooter. Just picked up a clean 1994 Model 111 in .270 to go under a Leupold scope I had. Bore is great but the factory stock is pretty drab. Blind magazine and has factory iron sights on it. Anyway, if it shoots up to Savage's reputation. I might want to put a new, nicer stock on it. Are the 110s and 111s built to the same specs for looking for one? And any other 111 tips are appreciated.

Yes, the 110 & 111 use the same Action. All parts are interchangeable. The Numeric labeling from Savage, being 110-116 was to distinguish characteristics differences: barrel contours, finishes, stocks, sights, magazines, etc. Essentially they are the same. What you need to be aware of for a stock or barrel change, etc., is the rifle’s Shank size, & if it’s Stagger or Center feed.

If date of manufacture is 1994 it will be stagger feed, center feed was not introduced until 2004. ;)

Stockys has Classic Sporter stocks on sale, disregard, 4.4" short action only. :-(
