I hunt on our 160 acre ranch for all legal game in this area of SW Oregon. Thus, I would like to use my 16ga SS Fox Savage with slugs in one barrel and BB in the other. This would give me more flexibility to take the game that responds to my calls. My Savage does not have a serial number, meaning it was manufactured between 1941 and 1949.
Iam seeking real-life experience or expert, not opinions.
Can I do this?

Shouldn’t fire slugs in anything tighter than a Modified Choke. And I believe the Fox model B’s were. Though I’m not certain of the choke off hand. However, easy enough to search what Choke they use. Someone here likely knows.

EDIT:
Well now, I just found this I posted below which indicates the Right barrel is Modified Choke & Left Barrel is Full Choke for all except .410. So if this is correct, than a slug in the Right Barrel is fine.
