I have a opportunity to purchase a model 340 A 30/30 Savage it's prob in 90 % condition , in the ad the dude dude said they are very rare rifle and that you probably would never see another one especially in shape his is in he asking 400 dollars for it can someone help me out here. ? TIA

Welcome. They are rare, however, being rare does not necessarily mean big money. A couple years ago the average pricing was $300-$500. So I’d say $400 is not “out of mind” asking price. However, once again… a firearm is only worth what an interested party is willing to pay for it. So while it’s not wrong for the buyer to ask for $400, it’s not wrong for you to counter the offer. Is that $400 including shipping? And remember, you will need to pay a transfer fee. Not sure what people around you charge, however, anywhere around me, FFL’s charge $45 MINIMUM!
