Will the newer round bolts work on an older flatback? Other than looks any issues?

No issues. It will work. However, the round bevel can easily be cut, filed, sanded down. Then just hit it with some flat black spray paint.

EDIT: By the way, it’s just the Rear Bevel, not the whole bolt assembly. But it all fits. Curious what you situation is, that you are asking this?

Thanks. I did notice however on a model 12 308 I have the lug portion of the bolt is.445 on my 110 it’s .502. I was under the impression the bolt heads were basically the same. Is it because it’s a 12 short action? Just wondering if the new long action bolt is the same as my early 90’s receiver for lug depth.

There is some difference between various Bolt Heads in the Lug Length.

Ok. That looks right my long action lug is 1/2”.

Indeed. Not that it’s a concern with 308, or really any SA cartridge. Maybe the SA Magnums..

Pay attention to the firing pin diameter.

Ahh, yes.. Hence my alluding to the Rear Baffle in question, being separate from the rest of the bolt assembly. Good point out on that Robin.
