Found a Hogue stock I like with the full aluminum bed block. It is a 4.4 spacing and I have a 4.27, does anyone take a 4.4 and move it back to 4.2. Looks like I could set it up on a drill press and drill the 4.2 then use a pillar epoxied in. What you say.Blind mag, stagger feed

Yes, you should be able to do that. It’s just drilling a new hole.Don’t believe you’d even need a pillar do to it having Aluminum bedding block. Almost anything will work with fabrication.
The Hogue I have has an insert for the front action screw that rotates 180 degrees. Fits both 4.27 and 4.4 action screw spacing. The inlet for the front action screw is oval, not round, to accommodate the insert. This stock is at least 10 years old. Yours may differ.
Correction: The inlet is round. The action screw location can be positioned forward or backward by rotating the insert.
