New here. Been shooting for ruffly year and a half or so and am firmly hooked. Have inherited a cery nice browning SA and Beretta A301M. But my first purchase was a standard Savage A22F. It proved to be quite accurate and I quickly got hooked into tweaking it to get the best fit I could and have massively enjoyed the process and thousands of rounds I sent down the tube. It’s a great rifle and a lot of fun shooting 3/4” groups (on low wind days) at 100 meters with eley contact. Also brought this out to try my first maple seed (was off rifle man by 3 points the transitions and kneeling/seated really were tuff due to some physical limitations).

Liked that savage so much that when it was time for a Centerfire I opted for another savage an Axis 2 XP Stainless. This also was phenomenally accurate and was also soon installed into a Boyd’s at one stock and pillar bedded. Great rifle but the light barrel means after 20 rounds it’s time to let cool for some time.

Had a Savage MKII FV for a while that was crazy accurate but just didn’t gel with stock and didn’t want to spend a lot upgrading this one.

So I then picked up a CZ457Canadian and it’s a very Nice little 22. One of my favourites to bring to the range. It’s smooth accurate (about equal to my A22 not quite as good as the MKII) and just a Purdy rifle that balances well for most shooting. Was planning to attempt my first ORPS match but weather canceled it. But seeing the possibility of the poor weather I dreaded bring out that nice wood and blues steel rifle and also didn’t want to bring the A22 into that. So I decided to pick up a rifle and build it specifically for orps. One I would mind bringing out in poor weather. So I picked I a Savage B22 FV SS and mounted a Bushnell MatchPro 6-24x50 MRAD scope. Have a 30moa rail and a cheek well riser on route to finish this setup off.

Welcome. Ahh, to be a new shooter again. I often think about when I started in shooting at 12yo, & what I could do in todays world just starting out. (I don’t mean to imply you’re young, just recounting my own history.)
