I have a 1996 Model 112 .308 in the long action configuration. I have been trying to find a chassis for this rifle, but it seems they are all made for the .308 short action. I would appreciate any input on where I can find an aluminum chassis for this rifle and would also appreciate any accurizing tips to help this rifle reach its most accurate potential. Thank you!

Thank you! do you have any tips for making this set-up more accurate?

As for “accurizing” tips I’ll ask a question: Do you reload? If not, that should be your 1st, 2nd & 3rd tips. Invest in & learn to reload.

Using factory ammunition is fine. But it will go only so far. For instance, if your rig already shoots such & such factory match ammunition fairly accurate; let’s say 1 MOA, replacing parts won’t spontaneously make it shoot that same ammunition any better. Remember that Accuracy is a byproduct of Consistency.

I will add, things like trigger work, or a new trigger, and quality optics are beneficial for aiding the shooter in overall consistency. Remove the barreled action from the stock & you will be able to see if your trigger is a 2-screw or 3-screw. Either can be worked, however the 3-screw is the much better. I can send you one of my lighter bar springs, or I also do trigger jobs for members at no charge if you send me just the trigger components. I dress & polish the surfaces with stones, add shims if needed & send it back to you usually the next day or 2. Or, like I said, you can buy a new trigger.
