110 high country 6.5CM barrel

Is the barrel on a 110 high country a bill barrel for the 6.5? If so (or if not)what’s the diameter?

Not a Bull barrel. Savage calls it a a Medium contour.

EDIT: The muzzle diameter is .750”

Thank you I got that muzzle diameter from the seller but I was trying to see how much I would need to sand on my axis stock if I need to sand at all

Don't know if it helps, but my 12 FV 6.5mm CM has a 26-inch barrel but the diameter from the muzzle back toward the chamber for more than 6-inches is 0.825 inches and the diameter about 12-inches from the barrel nut is 1.047 inches. The barrel nut should be identical in any 110 6.5mm CM so you might get an idea of your Axis barrel diameter 12-inches from the barrel nut and could guestimate how much the stock would have to be sanded.

Thanks, I have another question about the recoil lug if you have any information on that. Since the recoil lug on the axis is inside the stock it would still be compatible I assume?

Yes, it is. Just don't lose it :) It will bounce into the most inaccessible places. LOL

The recoil lug? It’s in there really snug with some sort of glue that I can see but thanks for the I for I got this barrel for a steal. It’s a 110 high country barrel with only the rest rounds from the factory so I’m really trying to make it work with the axis. But it is compatible with the recoil lug being mounted in the stock just to confirm?

Yes, it will work fine. The Axis has a machined portion in the front bottom, so the recoil lug fits it looks it. It’s a bit strange as the barrel nut does not clamp all the way around the threads. But it works. 110’s & Axis’ use the same barrels & nuts. Same Action threading, Savage Small Shank, size 1.055” X 20.
