What would I need in terms of parts to change my Savage 10FP (pre-Accu-Trigger) to a 220 Swift. Obviously I need a barrel, (or have this one rechambered) and a new bolt head...anything else? What about the magazine box or follower?

I have two of the 10FPs,,,I bought one when they came out and I bought the last one for a really good price from my local guns shop.

Thank you.

Yup. Barrel, Bolt & the whole mag box/components assembly. The 220 swift is 308 size with a slightly thinner case.

.220 Swift is a shade long for a short action box, you would be better served putting in a single shot follower.

The Swift is a good .190" longer then the .308. Best done in a long action if magazine fed.
I'd have to look it up but i believe The .257 Bob is close to the Swift's length.

A 22/284 would be a smoker in a short action.....

The Swifts were always built on single shots no matter what length action. Needless to say it's because they don't want to feed very well with a semi rimmed case.

Yeah, that makes sense. It’s kind of a weird case. You could look at the 22-250. Close to the 220 velocity and more efficient. It might even fit in the your current mag box. Not sure.

How about a 22 Creedmore?
