Hi everybody,
What a great forum you have here. I’m recently retired, long time hunter and small-time gun collector. Originally from CT and I still hunt back there whenever I can. Have a soft spot for old guns, especially vintage American made sxs shotguns and bird hunting. Mostly Parkers, but I have a Savage Fox Model B, an H&R sxs hammer gun and my Dads old Savage Springfield Model 94B single shot. My rifles are mostly Winchesters and Marlins in .22, .22 WMR and .30-30.
Would love to find a Savage 219 single shot in .22 Hornet for sentimental reasons. It was my Dads woodchuck rifle growing up in CT. He sold most of his guns off to pay for my brothers’ and my first .22s and shotguns. But he kept the 94B (AKA “the meat gun”) which fit him perfectly and is deadly. It’s interesting that other than being hammerless, the 219 profile is almost identical to Dads 94B shotgun. I understand you could get the 219 with a second shotgun barrel but Dads never had that option.
