I decided to install a 2-1/2 pound Bellm trigger spring in my Contender G2 pistol frame. I could not get the sear to engage the hammer and after several disassembles and having the same failure I determined that the upper end of the new spring was hitting the frame. I cut about 1/16" off and that cured the problem. Only took me 1-1/2 hours for a 20 minute job.

Did it indeed measure 2 1/2# when you were done?

That sounds familiar

I don't have a trigger scale to measure with but it feels about right, that's the main thing not the numbers.

Yep, that’s the important thing. Just curious if it was in the ballpark of advertised outcome.

Mine seem to run half to a pound lighter than marked. However I have generally done some honing first.

Same here. With a little smoothing and honing, the springs run a little lighter. I like it that way. Mike used to have a CD available in the old days. Following his instructions made all the difference in the world.
