I bought it 2 years back, and it set in my gun cabinet,[never loaded]for my granson to use.
It will extract 1 or 2 and the next ones drop off half ways out and you must tip the rifle up,so they drop out!
Any ideas,what is wrong??????

check the little ejector pawl in the end of the bolt, it sits on top of a spring and steelie ball and gets stuck sometimes

Seems half the savage bolt guns with that type extractor have had the same problem.I went through three extractors, before one worked.Call customer service and ask for a couple new extractors.Search this fourm for replacement procedure.A larger detent ball will ensure consistancy, but Savage doesn't have them SSS has them,or you might get lucky at a hardware store.

My 22-250 did the same thing!

Just get SSS to send you a complete new bolt assembly and you won't have any more troubles! That's what I did and the cost was minimal!

The extractor pin is to short, you can file it so it will stick out a few thousandths further, but that's your decesion.

There are many threads on this subject in the last two years on SS!

I might need some help here, at work, but there are several threads on this subject with pictures. Try to do a search, use 22-250 won't extract empty's or something like it. I will see if something is in my history!

Wow, based on how many hits on this sight alone it appears that I'm far from alone with stuck ejector pins. Model 111, 7mm Rem mag. I disassembled the bolt to the head, had a difficult time removing the ejector retaining pin, (ruined it), removed the ejector and will "dig" out the spring later. Will call SSS and/or Numrich for replacement parts tomorrow. My questions are; first, is there "better" replacement parts out there than o.e.m? and second, can I trust this rifle on a remote hunt?

Get a complete new bolt assembly from SSS, that's what I did after explaining why I wanted one! I have had no problems with his bolt, all spent cases eject perfectly!

I had so many post on my 22-250 not ejecting cases, somebody from Savage actually called me!
