Hello all,

I am new to the Savage Shooter’s forum but not new to Savage Firearms. I’ve owned a model 110 Savage in .270 caliber that was given to me as a gift from my parents. I have tried to find any information from Savage Arms and all they could tell me was that it was manufactured in May of 1995. They directed me to Cody Firearms but Cody Firearms is a museum and they only keep records from 1895 to 1940. I am wanting to lighten the trigger pull weight on my current trigger. I have read many articles and watched many videos and there are multiple ways this can be accomplished. I just don’t know if I need to try to achieve this by the different methods in the videos or just change out the entire trigger assembly. I am also having some trouble uploading the pics I took to this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

See this article. Your factory trigger may only be a 2-screw rather than a 3-screw as depicted in the article, but all the information would still apply the same other than for that missing third screw. Regarding pull weight, to really do much there you need to replace the wire spring with a piece of 0.040 to 0.045" piano wire. Generally speaking one can usually get the trigger down to around 3.5-4lbs without changing the wire spring, lower than that you will have to replace it.

The other option is going to an aftermarket replacement trigger like a Rifle Basix.
