A friend of mine just purchased an Axis Precision 6.5 Creedmoor and asked me how to install a bipod. I haven't seen the rifle and never seen one, advice is much appreciated.

There's a couple ways.
M-Lok to traditional sling swivel stud and go with a Harris or Magpul stud bipod. Like this -https://magpul.com/m-lok-bipod-mount.html?mp_global_color=118
Magpul and MDT make those ^, probably some others.

Or mount M-Lok to Picatinny rail then get a bipod with Pic attachment. Like - https://magpul.com/firearm-accessories/rails/1913-picatinny-rail-sections.html

There's also some bipods that direct attach to M-LOK like - https://magpul.com/bipod-m-lok.html?mp_global_color=118

Then there's the route of attaching an ARCA rail to the M-LOK slots and you could go with an ARCA type bipod. https://magpul.com/m-lokdovetailadapter-4slotforrrs-arcainterface.html?mp_global_color=118
Several companies make ARCA attachments.

How much does he want to spend? And what is he going to use it for?

If going to enter competition then I'd go one path. If just informal use I'd probably just stick with a Harris. If more serious then Atlas. For serious range work then use what the F class guys use, something like a Phoenix or Sinclair.

He basically going to use it for deer hunting from a fixed rest out to about 400 yards. Thank you for the advice I'll let him know what direction he could go.

I’d keep in-line with the aesthetics of the rifle. It’s an Axis Precision. It uses a Chassis with M-lok on the front. I would either use an M-lok bipod or get an M-lok to Picatinny. Just a simple rail like one of these. https://www.amazon.com/STNGR-USA-Aluminum-Picatinny-Accessory/dp/B075H2GT8W/ref=sr_1_56?crid=G3DZRVGXX1TP&keywords=M-lok+Picatinny+rail&qid=1673725196&sprefix=m-lok+picatinny+rail%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-56

Then he is free to use any bipod he chooses with easy on off.

I have an Savage Axis II Precision in 223 Remington. What I did was attach a picatinny rail at the front bottom of the chassis and attach my bipod to that.

My buddy had me order an MLok adapter so he can use his Harris swiveling bipod. Thanks for the advice.

I am using my Axis II Precision for F Practical L/Range. I installed the shorter MDT ARCA rail that attaches to the MLok chassis. Super easy on/off of the Warne Skyline bipod I run.
