New to Savage firearms but, not new to firearms in general. Been reloading off and on for several years. I've been loading for a 243 Win lately and I'm looking to get into a 280AI.

Joined to learn about building on Savage actions and hopefully pickup what info I need to build a decent rifle for myself.

Pic of my daughter and her first Deer, shot with my reloads.

243 Win
Starline brass
I4895
Sierra 85gr Gameking

100yds and weighed 110 lb field dressed.

Welcome to the forums. I used a 243 with 87 grain Hornady HPs for years and never lost a deer.

Welcome on! Great picture showing a hobby shared by you & yours.

On the matter of assembling a custom Savage, you came to the right spot indeed! Many of we here spend our Savage ownership ventures ONLY building on stripped Savage Actions.

Many of we here spend our Savage ownership ventures ONLY building on stripped Savage Actions.I'm currently looking for a factory rifle local and hoping I'll run into a decent deal on something I can use. Also I've looked some into aftermarket actions. I know I still have plenty of research to go.

There are lots of good folks here. The influence will vary more on your wallet. Lol.
I have a Model 12 22-250 and a Mark II but I can over from the disbanded Specialty Pistol Site. Contender pistols are my favorite platform.
My father was from the coal towns outside of Whitley cite. I spent a lot of childhood summers down in that area.
