7mm-08 has 1-9.5" twist again

I was looking at the Savage website and they show the 7mm-08 with the 1-9.5" twist again.

I had eliminated the Savage from contention because of the slow twist and was considering the TC Venture or the Weatherby Vanguard. I wonder if the 1 in 9.5 twist will have to be special ordered? I was thinking of the 11 FCNS or the 11FXP3.

Better wait year or so for the supply line to be filled with the new twist rate barrels. I'm amazed at how long it takes the distributors and dealers too cycle through there inventory when newer features appear on a model.

I certainly hope that's correct. Savage's web site was showing a 9.5" twist for the 7mm-08 for a long time after they went to the 11.5" twist in production. I have an 11.5" twist barrel on my M16 despite both the web site and catalog still saying 9.5" when I bought it and they only changed their published specs months later.

I wonder if they'd trade a new 9.5" barrel for my very little used factory 11.5"? The action now has a varmint weight 24" stainless Douglas barrel in 7mm-08 provided (at significant cost) by SSS. :)
