Hi guys! I am wondering how many of you may have had a lightweight storm for a year or more and what your experience has been, mainly with the stock fore-end/gap that seems to be pointed out a lot. I have had Savage rifles in the past and have always been impressed with the accuracy over time but not so much with the fit/finish of the composite stocks.
I am leaning toward the standard Storm in 7-08 for the premium stock features over the lightweight version. However, the lightweight keeps tugging at my elbow like my granddaughter asking for attention. Most of my hunting is tree stand or ground blind and that 20" barrel is ideal. My long-term experience of 40 years is with a Remington 760 carbine in .308 and I honestly do not need a 7-08 but "wants" out weight "needs" right now.
