OK, a couple guys have asked me if I took any creatures between last summer and now. I did, but as I had no intention of posting them, I did not set up photos like I normally would. These were done with a phone, and for a number of them, I didn't even get off of the lawnmower or tractor. The quality is poor...and some are quite gory, particularly the young coyote which was quartering to me at the shot. The 110 grain Barnes Tac-TX ranged through the vitals, impacted a full stomach and then caused a long rip in the ribcage. Hydrostatic shock turned it into a rather gruesome scene.

A couple of scenes may have more than one image or even be a duplicate. I just grabbed these off the phone and didn't pay attention to date/time, etc.

There are a few more hogs, but I will have to dig farther into my phone to find them.

I also gave the Barnes 6.5mm 115 grain TAC-TX a workout in the 24" 6.5 BRM, but I am not including those and will make a post one day when I feel up to it.

One photo that's not a critter is of the new Hornady .30 caliber 110 grain CX, which replaced the former GMX. Its low-velocity expansion -- much like that of the 110 grain GMX -- is superb. But more on that later on as well...

All but two of the kills were taken with the 24" DVH 30-30 and he 110 grain Barnes Tac-TX.

As a rule, I generally won't shoot a bobcat anymore, particularly a young one, but this one ambushed our fur baby in the yard. It was nearly dark, and I was out there with him but without a gun. I yelled and even threw a box at him to get him to leave. Unfortunately for him, he stopped under a canopy of vines about 175 yards out. I grabbed the 30-30 and was able to make the shot.

Lots of yotes in your neck of the woods I see. That last hog looks like she could eat corn out of a coke bottle. LOL
