Springfield / stevens model 53b scope top mount location

Hello everyone.

I have an old stevens / Springfield model 53b that I want to put an inexpensive scope on. I looked up a weaver base for my rifle and for top mount it listed a number 16 & 21. Has anybody ever installed these or seen them installed. I can’t even find a picture on the internet of them installed on this rifle. I am curious as to the location of the bases.

Not sure mounting a scope would even be possible with that split receiver bridge!

Look up the Savage model 3, same gun. It has some picture with some weird side mount!!

The 16 and 21 bases are used with the #2 side mount!
